Sarah O'Brecht

Sarah is a multi–talented performer and teacher, who joined the faculty of The S.P.A.C.E. in 2011. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and French, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick. She also trained in New York City at American Theater Dance and Tisch School of the Arts, and is excited to share her love of the arts with students of all ages!
In its second season, Sarah made it to the finals of So You Think You Can Dance Canada. A choreographer as well as a dancer, Sarah had the privilege of assisting Tony Award winner Adam Cates, and was an Associate Choreographer for the National Tour of The Wizard of Oz. Other choreography credits include The Sound Of Music, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Music Man, Grease, High School Musical, and Rocketbaby for the Toronto Fringe Festival.
In addition to teaching, Sarah works as an actress and dancer across the country. She performed at the illustrious Charlottetown Festival, where she appeared in Anne of Green Gables and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Other favourite roles on stage include “Belinda” in Johnny Belinda (Smile), “Mona” in Chicago (Stage West), “Ophelia” in Hamlet, and “Cecily” in The Importance of Being Earnest (SJTC). Sarah also appeared in Guys and Dolls at the Segal Centre, and Cabaret at Hart House. On screen, you can see her in Warehouse 13, Reign, and most recently on the Canadian Country Music Awards.
Sarah is an engaging and inspiring teacher, and her students will enjoy her infectious enthusiasm in class. Originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, Sarah is thrilled to be part of the Toronto arts community and we are delighted to have her on staff at The S.P.A.C.E.
